California – The Fifth Annual California Gator Golf Tournament was played on
Saturday, August 23rd, at Poppy Ridge
Golf Course. This year the field was broadened to include the Nebraska Bay
Area Huskers who came out in mass to challenge the Gators in their bid to win

Poppy Ridge Golf Course in Livermore is the second and newest
NCGA Members' Course, joining Poppy Hills in Pebble Beach.
Designed by Rees Jones, 1995 Golf Digest Architect of the Year.
The first tee off time is at 11:50AM on August 23. If you have a need to tee
off at a certain time please let me know. Also, all tournament participants
scheduled to play are required to check in at the Golf and all NCGA members must
show their membership cards for the club to get discounted fees.
Dress Code: Absolutely NO blue
jeans and shirts must have a collar. Shorts (excluding denim) must have an
inseam of at least four (4) inches.
Tournament Format: Scramble
Each player in the foursome hits off the tee. The players decide which is
the best ball to play and all players make their next shot from that spot
(players pick up the balls not being used). This process continues for each shot
(including putts) until the ball is in the hole. Each foursome must use at least
3 tee shots of each player during the round.
Tournament Entry Deadline: July 15, 2003
Tournament Fee: $100.00 (per player)
Please send your fees to before July 15, the course is requiring full payment
one month prior to our Saturday, August 23 tournament date. If you or anyone in
your foursome are Northern California Golf Association members please note. The
San Francisco Bay Area Gator Club will get discounted greens fees for each NCGA
member and guest!
Mulligans: Can be purchased at 3 for $10.00.
In order to keep the round on a reasonable time line mulligans will be limited
to 3 per player. Mulligans will only be made available for sale prior to playing
the round.

Pairings and Tee Times: Please plan on arriving at the course early. Our first tee time is at
11:50AM on Saturday, August 23rd. As a courtesy to everyone involved in the
Tournament please make every effort to be on time. There are practice facilities
available at the Golf Course to get the kinks out of your swing in advance of
your tee time and please buy your Mulligans BEFORE you tee off.
The Pairings and Tee times:

General
Rules:
1. Men will play the “white” tees. Women will play the “Red” tees.
2. Keep pace of play moving quickly. Stay up with the foursome in front
of you.
3. "Longest Drive" contest is for men and women. To be considered for the
contest, the player’s first drive must come to rest in the fairway.
4.For the two "Closest to the Pin" contests men and women compete together. To
be considered, the player’s first tee shot must come to rest on the green.
Rules
5. The tournament will be governed by USGA rules.
Scorecards
6. Use official scorecards.
7. Record the gross score for the team on each hole.
8. Enter your score on the posted Tournament Score Card. Also, select and post
your team MVP.
Winning
9. The foursome with the lowest net score will be the winner.
10. Tiebreaker will be decided by the better net score on the last nine holes.
